Mike Pride/Concord Monitor Interviews

In 2004-05, Mike Pride, former editor of the Concord Monitor and currently administrator of the Pulitzer Prize, interviewed Maxine Kumin four times at her farm in Warner. He then transcribed, compiled and condensed those interviews into an oral history/biography in her voice. Maxine Kumin’s husband, Victor, was also interviewed by the Story Preservation Initiative. He graduated from Harvard in January of 1943 with a degree in Chemistry. During World War II he was drafted and worked in Los Alamos with a team assembled by J. Robert Oppenheimer to help build the Atomic bomb.
